Official product information provided by Dual

The following product descriptions, specifications and images are provided by the manufacturer.

      Description

Dual CS 518 is a manual belt-drive turntable built around Dual's twin-gimbal precision tonearm. It retains the Ortofon 2M Red and switchable MM phono stage of the CS 418 while upgrading the arm platform for more demanding cartridge use.

      Why it stands out

      Twin-gimbal tonearm

Four fine pivot ball bearings guide the cartridge with greater bearing sophistication than the CS 418.

      Ready-to-play cartridge

The factory-installed Ortofon 2M Red offers balanced performance and a replaceable stylus.

      Flexible phono integration

A switchable MM stage allows direct line-level connection or use of a dedicated external phono stage.

      Manual three-speed control

Electronic 33, 45 and 78 RPM selection supports varied record collections with the correct stylus.

      Best for

      • Systems with either line or MM phono inputs

      Not ideal for

      • Bluetooth-only playback systems
      • Buyers who do not want initial tonearm setup

      EMiUZEK Buying Notes

      • The key upgrade over CS 418 is the twin-gimbal, four-bearing tonearm; general drive and cartridge specifications are otherwise similar.
      • Use a dedicated 78 RPM stylus or cartridge for shellac records.
      • Select LINE only for line-level inputs; bypass the internal stage for a true MM PHONO input.
