    3. Why can't BTR13 be paired and connected to my phone? How to reset?

    【Clear the pairing information on your phone】

    Go to Settings-Bluetooth to delete the BTR13 pairing information and reconnect it to BTR13.

    【Clear the pairing information on BTR13】

    When it is on, hold both the volume- and volume+ buttons at the same time for about 5s.

    【Reset operation】

    Hold the Power button for at least 10 seconds to reset it.

    4. How to activate the menu of the BTR13? Introduction of the menu

    [Operation explained]

    Power on: Hold the Power button for about 3s while the device is off.

    Power off: Hold the Power button for about 5s while the device is on;

    Reset: Short press the Power button for about 10s at any state.

    Turn off/on the display: When the device powers on and is not on the menu page, short press the Power button.

    Activate menu: When the device powers on and not on the menu page, hold the Power button for about 2s.

    Exit menu: On the menu page, hold the Power button for about 2s.

    Return to the previous menu step by step: On the menu page, short press the Power button.

    Switch submenus: Short press the Volume+/- button on the menu page.

    Confirm menu: Short press the Multifunction button on the menu page.

     

    Note: Long press the volume up and down buttons to change songs, press the play button to pause, it works under Bluetooth and USB mode.

    CHGPR: Charging protection

    ON: When the battery is charged to 80%, the USB will stop charging the battery, but will still provide power for the system.

    OFF (by default): The USB will charge the battery and provide power for the system.

     

    GAIN

    The BTR13 supports H/L two levels of gains.

     

    EQ

    7 presets+3 user EQ are supported: JAZZ POP ROCK DANCE R&B CLASS HIP-HOP USER1 USER2 USER3

    You could set the custom USER EQ via the FiiO Control APP.

    Note: EQ works on both Bluetooth and USB mode.

     

    CARMODE

    Enable or disable the car mode on the menu. When the car mode is enabled and the BTR13 is off, it will automatically turn on after inserting a USB, and will automatically turn off after unplugging the USB if the BTR13 is on. The CARMODE can be enabled or disabled based on different use scenarios.

     

    DIMMER

    Adjust screen brightness level: 1~4.

     

    OFF-DIS

    If no key is pressed within the set time, the screen will automatically turn off. The setting time range is 10-30 minutes.

     

    LANGUAG

    Switch between Chinese and English

    (The language selection page will show when turning on the first time or after factory reset. )

     

    RESET

    Reset all pairing and setting information of BTR13.

    5.Introduction of the three modes

    PC mode: Toggle the switch to the top. The BTR13 will enter the USB decoding mode for desktop devices, and can be powered through USB.

    BT mode: Toggle the switch to the middle. The BTR13 will enter the Bluetooth receiving mode, and can be powered through USB.

    PHONE mode: Toggle the mode switch to the bottom. The BTR13 will enter the decoding mode for mobile phones, and will be disabled from USB charging (The device will be forced to charge if it is powered off for low battery).

    6. How to enter pairing mode in BT mode? How to clear the pairing list of BTR13?

    [How to enter pairing mode] (non-menu interface)

    1. If the device has not been paired before: it will automatically enter the pairing state after turning on, and the display will show "PAIRING";

    After the device is turned off and then turned on again, it will automatically reconnect to the last connected device. If it is not reconnected, it will enter pairing mode.

     

    2. Forced to enter pairing mode: Press and hold the multi-function button for about 5 seconds when the device is connected, and the display will show "PAIRING"

     

    [Note] When the device is turned on for the first time or after clearing the pairing information, it will automatically enter the pairing mode.

    When the device is turned on, press and hold the volume + button and volume - button at the same time for about 5 seconds.

    7. How to switch Bluetooth codec for BTR13 in your Android mobile phone?

    The BTR13 is a Bluetooth receiver. So the Bluetooth code it receives is depended by the mobile phone terminal. If you would like to switch the Bluetooth code, you could go to the developer mode page of the mobile phone for switching.

    There is a Bluetooth code selection option of BTR13 in the FiiO Control App. You could select the Bluetooth codecs you want to use on the BTR13 via that option. The codecs that are not selected will be disabled.

     

    If you would like to use other Bluetooth codec(Like LDAC), please follow this steps for help:

    1. Enter FiiO Control App-BTR13-Status

    2. Click 'Select Bluetooth code'

    3. Uncheck other Bluetooth protocols, leaving only the "LDAC" option, and click 'OK'

    4. The BTR13 will restart and reconnect to the mobile phone via LDAC or other Bluetooth codec.

     

    Note: The iOS device only supports SBC and AAC Bluetooth codec. And the default Bluetooth codec will be AAC.

    8. How to use the BTR13 as a DAC for the computer in Pc mode?

    BTR13 only supports UAC1.0 driver-free mode, no driver installation is required, and it can support up to 96K.

     

    After switching to PC/PHONE mode, whether it is a Windows computer or a MAC computer, after the adapter is connected to the computer, there is no need to install the driver, just select and set the corresponding sound output device

     

    Note: Due to system reasons, the output sampling rate of Apple computers will not automatically adapt to the song, and you need to go to Midi to change the system output sampling rate.

    9. How to use the BTR13 as a USB DAC for mobile phones in PHONE mode?

    【Android phone】

    Use the Type C-Type C data cable provided as an accessory to connect BTR13 and mobile phone, and play songs to enjoy high-quality music.

     

    If there is no sound after the connection, the following points need to be noted:

    1. Playback software settings, such as FiiO Music, if there is a USB output, it needs to be turned on. Some devices have sound only when the USB output is turned off.

    2. The mobile phone needs to open "Developer Options" in "Other Advanced Settings", and then turn on "USB Debugging" or "OTG" function.

    3. After the above settings are completed, you can try to unplug the data cable again, or play the track, switch the song, and rule out whether it is the hardware or software that cannot be recognized. If it still cannot be solved, it is recommended to contact our customer service to confirm whether it needs to be returned to the factory

     

    【iPhone】

    Use the TypeC-lightning data cable purchased separately to connect BTR13 and Apple phone, and play songs to enjoy high-quality music.

    Note: Apple phones do not require too many settings. Generally speaking, just connect the adapter cable and play the song. If there is no sound, it may be that the adapter cable or the interface is in poor contact.

    10. How to update the firmware of BTR13?

    Online upgrade:
    Set the BTR13 to the BT mode and connect to the mobile phone via Bluetooth. Download the Fiio Control App on your phone and connect the BTR13. On the BTR13 page, click the settings pattern in the upper right corner, find "Firmware Upgrade", find "Online Upgrade" and click it. If BTR13 has available Bluetooth firmware, a pop-up window will prompt you for the new version. Click OK to upgrade.

    Local upgrade:
    1. Import the "BTR13_Vxxx.bin" firmware into the mobile phone;
    2.Set the BTR13 to the BT mode and connect to the mobile phone via Bluetooth. Download the Fiio Control App on your phone and connect the BTR13. On the BTR13 page, click the settings pattern in the upper right corner, find "Firmware Upgrade", find "Local Upgrade", select the firmware imported to the phone, and start upgrading the firmware.
    Note: During the firmware upgrade process, please do not leave the upgrade interface, otherwise the upgrade may fail! The upgrade may take a long time, please be patient. If the upgrade fails, you can try again.
